About the Presenter: 
Jamal Berry

Jamal Berry, Ed.S., holds a Bachelor of Science in Pedology from Bowie State University, a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Specialist of Education degree in Leadership and Early Childhood Special Education from George Washington University. He has been recognized as a PBS Early Learning Champion and a UCLA Head Start Management Fellow. Jamal is passionate about advancing early childhood education, having presented internationally and contributed to influential platforms like New America’s blog. He is a passionate advocate for early childhood education and the advancement of educators who have chosen the field. He is highly sought after to lead discussions outside of the classroom to discuss issues such as pay equity and teacher retention, and he is just as equally called on to help find solutions in the classroom such as implementing effective teaching practices and supporting early learners with neurological differences.

 

Mr. Berry currently serves on the advisory board for the PBS Ready to Learn Initiative. He also holds key roles including Convener of DC Men in Early Childhood, Treasurer of DC Head Start Association, Co-Chair of the Director’s Committee of the Under 3 DC Coalition, and Board Member of DC Early Learning Collaborative.
